overdued Penang postings....

and well back to the previous penang postings, my ex-colleagues and i visited temple after temple, u name it from the Kek Lok Si temple, to the oldest Kuan Yin Temple in Georgetown, Penang to this one, didnt manage to get good pics from the former but this wasnt really great either! this was sumthing we visited on the 2nd day after a bloatsome buffet breakfast at Sunway Hotel, Penang Island..

i could hear a disgruntled Jon reluctantly ferrying us places in his zippy red Myvi...... (*shuyii pokepokes Jon*)

well he got to visit Midlands Mall in the end to shop for his transformers... so there!
*jon pulls a sulky face*

by day's end at Kek Lok Si temple, after having our dinner at the famed Ayer Itam Asam Laksa, his face was longer than a bittergourd's, haha! and i am amused, sHnapping away! *smiles gleefully*

well, without further ado ofcourse : -

and i do notice for the past few postings... i am kinda like a *portrait-liking-person... for at least most of my shots are composed that way, (and i have no idea why!!)
didn't realise that till a friend of mine pointed out my portrait-tendency while we went shooting interesting sights in Malacca last Raya holidays! more pics to come next..

i hope i will be finished by the weekend for the KLPac posting as i will be busy on 11th & 12th October 2008 for the 1000 Offering Event organised by LDC (Losang Dragpa Centre) at the Chinese Assembly Hall from 10am - 9pm! please do all feel free to come! :D

Kek Lok Si temple, Ayer Itam

here are the remaining pictures taken at Kek Lok Si temple at Ayer Itam, Penang Island! I very much look forward to visit this particular temple , (much to Jon's chagrin) particularly during the Chinese New Year celebration for their Lights and Lanterns displays... Hundreds or THOUSANDs of these beautiful red & yellow lanterns made up the vibrant display of lights which filled the night's sky and the temple's exterior with an air of warmth, evoking the festive mood, truly an awesome sight to behold!

t o k i d o k i

has a thorough week at The Company after just 2.5weeks..workload's piling by the seconds, bearing heavier responsibilities day by day, insufficient time to breakdown the details, digest, absorb.. reminding myself "this IS getting myself quickly adapting to the waythings are done here as soon as possible so my workflow will be smoother....."

anyway.. i left office considerably early today , 8 pm as previous weeks i been continuously reaching home by 9 - 10pm, which kinda boggles mum because she will be asleep on the couch by then and every morning the conversation starts off figuratively like this : -

"what time you'd reach home last nite?"
or
"why i didn't notice that you were back?"

thats prolly the only time we're be able to catch up on weekdays as she will religiously send me to the lrt station everymorning and the ride barely last up to 5 mins if the traffic's smooth....with audible "ummms" and "yeahs"along the way... :P

had a lovely time with the gurls, Est & Wen tonite. we are all quite tangled & troubled with problems of our own but nothing beats spending some quality time with the girls after 2 weeks of insanity! wen seemed preoccupied & troubled though, it was very unlike of her to behave that way. nonetheless the tension soon melted away as we chatted away munching on slices of Izzi's Clive's pizza. (wish i'd taken a few pics... but was too hungry to notice!) all in all, i'd had a great time with the girls.. and hope we will meet soon when they are less caught up with papers and work for another round of baking, hopefully with Waiyee along this time!
who has a fab tiramisu recipe to offer?! :)

on another note...

have you come across something robust, poky and tubby and so uber adorable u wanna hug it?!

i lurvvvve these lil cacti pups from t o k i d o k i so much!!! :) consists of a gazillion many other cutesy characters, so do go check it out here!

awwww! wanna hug *em all esp the tiny green one!! so poky like fuzzy's cactus!! *chuckles*

more on LDC's Seminar piccies

here's a follow up of yesterdays posting. +on my first day at The Company, i cant say nothing much. Its too early to tell as i'm merely a week old there! nonetheless The Colleagues are not bad, albeit I was disappointed to find more young designers instead of seniors.

well without further ado, here's introducing Mighty Jourdan! smiles, Laughter and fun in this lil boy! do not underestimate his size! he's got enough under his cheeky smile to bring the rainbow out of the gloomy skies! :) :D

and boy, he sure does love to read!

Seminar on "Dying" at LDC by Geshe Tenzin Zopa

I'd mentioned a week ago that I would post some piccies taken during the "Hayagriva Vajrapani Garuda" initiation at LDC, but before i get to that, let me post some of the pics which were taken at the seminar held on the 2nd August 2008@LDC discussing on the topic "Dying". Basically its a talk on preparatory steps, the dos & don'ts before, during and after someone's death (asides from preparing a will, getting a tuft up some location with a picturesque hilltop scenery or selecting the box u wanna be sleeping in after u've heaved ur last breath?)

not something you get everyday, the talk of dying as for some cultures out there, it may even be regarded as a taboo. Nonetheless there was a huge turnup and I was one of the very few equipped with a camera... so here i go shooting whilst something's really serious being discussed there....

toodles now. bLwekk. hopefully battery doesn't kong by 11am tomorrow!!

(its my first day at The Company tomorrow so all i'd gotta tell myself is... "break a Leg"!)
